Famous American podcaster, UFC commentator and comedian Joe Rogan said that bitcoin reminds him of the Internet in its early days. In his opinion, it has turned into a “viable form of currency,” which is of serious concern to the U.S. government.
Rogan doesn’t think U.S. lawmakers will restrict the use of cryptocurrencies because they had a bad experience with Internet censorship during the Obama administration. That move caused a harsh reaction from society and was canceled.
The famous comedian expects the U.S. government to create a centralized digital currency that they can control. It will limit people’s options and take away their financial freedom.
While paying tribute to the value of bitcoin and ethereum, Rogan rules out buying digital collectibles because, in his opinion, there’s no point in spending a significant amount on artwork when you can download it for free.
However, he admitted that he doesn’t know much about cryptocurrencies, and non-interchangeable tokens are a mystery to him at all.
